FOR GENERAL & ROOFING CONTRACTORS & RESTORATION PROFESSIONALS

You know the work. HCH addresses the claim dispute.

Contractors and restoration professionals are often the first to see the physical damage—and the first to hear when an insurance estimate does not reflect the work they believe is necessary.

Those situations can leave a homeowner caught between the approved insurance scope and the actual cost of restoration. A licensed Florida public adjuster can independently evaluate and represent the policyholder’s claim, subject to the policy and applicable law.

Why contractors connect customers with HCH

✓ Gives the homeowner access to independent claim representation.
✓ Helps address claim disputes that can delay restoration decisions.
✓ Keeps construction responsibilities separate from insurance claim representation.
✓ Gives you a professional resource when a customer needs help beyond your role.

BEFORE AN INSURANCE CLAIM EXISTS

Damage discovered. Claim not filed?

During inspections, estimates, renovations, or repairs, contractors may discover storm damage, water intrusion, or other conditions that homeowners were unaware of or did not know might be covered by their home insurance policy.

HCH can speak directly with the homeowner, review the circumstances and applicable policy, and explain whether pursuing a claim may be appropriate.

An insurance claim does not have to be open for a homeowner to contact HCH.

WHEN TO MAKE THE CONNECTION

These are the situations contractors see all the time.

When damage is discovered before a claim is filed—or when an existing insurance estimate does not account for the documented damage or reasonable cost of covered repairs—the homeowner may benefit from an independent review by HCH.

Payment doesn’t cover the work

The approved amount falls short of the documented cost of necessary repair or replacement.

Code & compliance issues

Code, ordinance, or matching requirements may create additional costs that need to be evaluated under the policy.

Replace vs. repair disputes

The carrier estimates a patch or partial repair while the documented condition may support a different scope.

Scope or hidden damage

Observed damage, quantities, or necessary operations are missing from the insurance estimate.

TWO DISTINCT PROFESSIONAL ROLES

Clear responsibilities. Independent decisions.

QUESTIONS CONTRACTORS ASK

Working with a Florida public adjuster: clear answers

Can a GC, a ROOFER or a RESTORATION company recommend a public adjuster?

A contractor may provide general information and contact details for a licensed public adjuster. The homeowner independently decides whether to make contact. Contractors should not adjust, negotiate, or represent the homeowner in the insurance claim unless properly licensed and authorized to do so.

Does HCH pay contractors referral fees or compensation for introductions?

No. HCH does not pay referral fees or provide compensation for customer introductions. There are no exclusive relationships or promised reciprocal referrals.

Does introducing a customer create any obligation?

No. An introduction does not obligate the homeowner to hire HCH. Any representation begins only after the homeowner and HCH enter into a written agreement.

When should a homeowner consider hiring a public adjuster in Florida?

A homeowner may consider consulting a licensed Florida public adjuster when the insurance estimate does not reflect the documented damage, the payment appears insufficient for necessary covered repairs, the claim is delayed or disputed, or the carrier’s proposed repair scope differs from the documented condition. Coverage depends on the policy language and facts of the loss.

Does HCH prepare construction estimates for contractors?

No. HCH represents the policyholder in the insurance claim and does not replace the contractor’s independent construction estimate, repair scope, or project proposal.
